Welcome to GreenBin
Smarter waste management for cleaner communities.
Report overflowing bins, illegal dumping, and recyclables in seconds. Track what your neighbours have reported and learn how to sort waste correctly. Everything on this page runs locally in your browser — no sign-in, no database, no uploads.
Prototype note: all numbers and reports below are sample/mock data for demonstration.
How it works
- Report waste with a location, category and description.
- Track your report in the recent-reports list below.
- Sort right using the category guidance and tips.
New reports you submit appear instantly in the list and update the statistics.
Community waste statistics
Live counts computed from the mock dataset on this page. Submitting the form updates these numbers instantly (in this browser session only).

Please don’t include
Real names, phone numbers, or exact home addresses. Use a nearby landmark instead. This prototype stores nothing permanently.
Recent reports
Sample community reports (mock data). Reports you submit through the form appear first in this list.
Waste-sorting tips
Quick guidance to sort correctly and keep recyclables clean. General advice for the prototype — always follow your local council rules.
♳ Plastic
Rinse bottles and containers. Flatten to save space. No plastic bags or film in the recycling bin.
🍂 Organic
Bag food scraps and keep compost bins closed. No liquids or plastics in compost. Put out on compost day.
📰 Paper
Keep paper dry and flat. Shredded paper goes in a paper bag. Greasy pizza boxes go in organic/general.
🫙 Glass
Rinse jars and bottles. No broken glass loose — wrap and label it. Never put light bulbs in glass recycling.
🔩 Metal
Rinse cans and tins. Empty aerosols completely. Scrap metal goes to a collection point, not the kerb bin.
🔋 E-waste & Hazardous
Never bin batteries, paint, or chemicals. Take them to a designated drop-off point and keep them dry and separate.
